Portrait Study

This is a study that I did in a painting group which I attend weekly (and will be going to today.  I am so grateful for this wonderful group of artists.  We need the company and support of fellow artists.  It is so difficult to continuously paint alone in the studio or on location.  We need feedback, support and just the psychological and physical presence of others committed to the same goal -- constantly looking for ways to learn and grow.

Study of a Tree

In my very first workshop with a well-known landscape artist I was told to practice, practice and practice.  That is what I have been doing diligently.  It seems that I have gotten the same advice from other artists, teachers, etc.

My Patio

I love painting these terra cotta pots.  It's a challenge capturing the changing light on a covered patio.
